  • this one broke my heart :( but its not too late to call and help!

    Dear Haley,

Killed for their parts, Sumatran tigers are getting closer to exticntion every day.

Please make a monthly pledge of as little as 33 cents a day to save our last sumatran tigers, their homes and our environment.

Walk through certain markets in Indonesia, and you can actually purchase tiger claws, skins, eye-balls, and even their private parts…

Only 400 Sumatran tigers are left, yet many are still killed each year - slaughtered by poachers who then sell them off to make traditional medicines, soups, and novelties. And as their forest home continues to be destroyed, the risk of poaching - and extinction - grow more and more grave.

We’ve made huge strides toward protecting their forest homes these last few weeks! But now we redouble our efforts to save the lives of Sumatran tiger parents and cubs and make every day count in the difficult fight ahead.

I would like to extend a special invitation to become a monthly donor - and a hero to these last Sumatran tigers every day.

With your help, we’ll fight to protect these last tiger families from poachers and encroaching settlers at the same time as stopping the terrible deforestation.

How bad is it? Every day, an area of Indonesian rainforest half the size of Manhattan is destroyed.

Paper companies like Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) will keep destroying tiger forests every day until they learn that huge companies around the world - like Nestle, Kraft and Staples - will avoid business with them unless they clean up their act.

Saving Sumatran tigers requires reliable resources, and we can’t afford to lose them now that momentum is on our side. Thanks to support from people like you, we have made great progress.  But with just 400 left, survival of every tiger and every tiger cub matters. The Bali tigers went extinct in the 1950s.  The Java tigers went extinct in the 1980s.  We can and must put an end to devastating extinction crisis.

Please consider becoming a monthly hero for these last Sumatran tigers, their forest homes, and our planet with your gift of as little as 33 cents a day.

Right now we’ve got the attention of companies like Mattel - the maker of Barbie and the biggest toy company in the world - maker of Barbie), but we need a base of sustained support only you can provide to keep up the pressure up and safeguard tigers on the ground in Indonesia.

Thank you for your support. Together, we’ll win this fight.

P.S. We just found out that a young male tiger was found caught in a trap on APP land. He was badly wounded from trying to free himself and nearly starved. Sadly, he didn’t make it-which means we’re down to 399. Please make a monthly pledge right now via our secure website.
